The title of Xylem’s 2011-2012 Sustainability Report, “A Drop is Everything,” reflects the vital place of water in the world and Xylem’s central role in finding better ways to transport, treat and test this essential resource. Highlights of the report include Xylem’s commitment to use more sustainability measurements to assess and select our supplier partners, as well as the fact that Xylem has set a goal to pursue LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) certification on all new construction at Xylem.
“Earlier this year we formed a Sustainability Steering Committee with
employees from all geographies, businesses and functions which meets
regularly to guide our sustainability efforts and ensure we maintain
momentum,” said Xylem’s chief sustainability officer, and president of

The report offers a baseline snapshot of Xylem in its first year as a standalone company. Where possible, metrics shed light on the company’s sustainability performance, and in other areas Xylem sets sustainability goals and features best practices from the company’s individual businesses and sites.
