Xylem’s Lowara brand circulator named “best product of the year”

May 24, 2013

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 24, 2013-- Xylem Inc., a leading global water technology company focused on addressing the world’s most challenging water issues, announced today that its Lowara Ecocirc® circulator pump has won the Plus X “Best Product of the Year 2013” award.

The Plus X Awards is the world’s largest innovation award ceremony for technology, sport and lifestyle products, and honors manufacturers of unique, innovative high-quality products. The winners of Plus X Awards are chosen by an independent, international panel of 25 judges from various industries. The award ceremony will be broadcast in full on June 22 on German television channel ANIXE HD.

The Lowara Ecocirc high-efficiency circulator pump, which already complies with the 2015 energy-related products (ErP) directive, was selected for its unique magnetite-resistant “anti-block” technology. This technology completely separates the main flow of the transferred liquid from the permanent magnetic parts, ensuring that the pump is resistant to blockages.

The Ecocirc pump is specifically designed for heating systems in domestic environments. The circulator can reduce electricity costs by up to 90% compared to traditional fixed three-speed pumps, delivering a payback period of just 2-3 years.

“We are honored to win an award of this magnitude,” said Giorgio Menegazzi, Xylem’s global product manager for circulators. “At Xylem, we constantly strive to ensure our products meet our customers’ requirements while maintaining the highest pumping standards. To win the best product of the year award is a true endorsement of our product design and application expertise, and we’re delighted to have been recognized.”

The Lowara Ecocirc previously also received a Plus X Award for innovation, high quality and functionality and the “Best HVAC Marketing Campaign 2013 in Germany.”
