Xylem reports significant reductions in global energy, water use, greenhouse gas emissions and waste

Second annual sustainability report reflects company-wide conservation efforts

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jun. 6, 2013-- Xylem Inc. (NYSE: XYL), a leading global water technology company focused on addressing the world’s most challenging water issues, released its second annual sustainability report today. The report, entitled, “A Drop is Everything” is viewable online at www.xyleminc.com, and details Xylem’s accomplishments in the area of sustainability for its worldwide operations in 2012, the company’s first full calendar year as a stand-alone company. It also includes data from 2013 year to date.

The report covers key environmental metrics, including a greenhouse gas emissions reduction of 26.2%, a waste disposal reduction of 32%, an energy consumption reduction of 5.7% and a water use reduction of 9.1%.
